Gourd art

Gourd Art workshop participants will choose from a variety of sizes and shapes of gourds. Karen will guide each person as to what they would like to create with suggestions from books and her designs. You will learn how to cut, dye or paint, possibly Woodburn on your gourds. Karen will have cleaned the outer skin of your gourd and will teach how to clean inside of the gourd. Many items will be provided for embellishments. All art materials are included, but If you have a heavy duty dust mask please bring it, as well as a sack lunch.

Your instructor Karen Currier passion has been Gourd Art for over 19 years. She started learning in a few workshops just like the one she is offering here. Whenever Karen is outdoors. especially when hiking. she tends to find items in nature that she incorporates into her gourds. She has learned many methods to carve, Woodburn, dye, and sculpt on gourds.
